In Memoriam: Prof. Dr. Andrea Evers (1967–2025)

We are deeply saddened by the passing of our dear colleague and inspiring leader, Andrea Evers.

As the driving force behind all placebo research in our group since 2008, Andrea was a true connector and team player - someone who brought out the unique talents of everyone around her. She brought vision, innovative ideas, boundless energy, positivity, love, and care to everything she did.

It was a true privilege to collaborate with her - from innovative research and clinical tools on placebo mechanisms to the global placebo conferences, and so much more. She inspired and shaped us deeply and permanently. Besides her scientific qualities, she was a dedicated mentor, a visionary who built bridges across disciplines and countries, and a warm, generous human being.

Though the loss is immense, we as a team are committed to carrying forward her ideas, her energy, and her passion. In who she was and all she did, she continues to inspire and shape us.

We miss her deeply.
